Aviara Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a privately held pharmaceutical research and development company that discovers and develops synthetic small molecule therapeutics to address unmet medical needs. The company is located within the Texas Medical Center (TMC), Houston Texas, and is a member of the University of Texas, Health Science Center (UTHSC), Biotechnology Commercialization Center (BCC). Aviara’s research and development focus is on inflammatory and vascular diseases, more specifically on agents for chronic kidney disease, Crohn’s disease and certain types of metastatic cancer. Aviara also provides synthetic medicinal chemistry and drug development services to other research groups, especially those within the TMC locality.
